TRANSFORMING THE WORLD WITH GOD'S GRACE AND LOVE

WE'RE SO GLAD YOU FOUND US!

Sunrise Ministries exists to transform the world with God's grace and love. We do this by building authentic relationships, caring for those in need, using our lives for others, listening for God's voice, and sharing our stories. We believe that in humbling ourselves and living this way, God can make a difference in the world.

We invite you to join us for worship Sunday mornings at 10am at 7754 28th Ave in Jenison, MI. There you will find engaging worship, biblical teachings, community & fellowship, and a vibrant children's ministry for infants through 5th grade. Whether you're a lifelong follower of Christ or have never set foot in a church, Sunrise is a place where all are welcome.

CURRENT SERIES

january 14 2018

This week we continue our new series on David with the story of David versus Goliath. What can this story teach us about faith and trust?

David was the only one willing to fight Goliath not because he was the bravest, but because his trust was in God alone. We often put our trust in others— in our abilities, talents, or what is known to work. When we trust in God, we don't have to control life, our doubt; we don't have to live in fear. Rather we can see clearly, live confidently, and walk humbly because we are trusting in God with our lives instead of ourselves. t's when we are willing to simply trust God to control every situation that God can use us for greater things, because we have the boldness to act and follow where God calls.

Today's readings come from 1 Samuel 17 and Psalm 25:1-3

January 7 2018

At the start of January, we began a new six-week series on the life and times of King David. In week one, Pastor Bob introduces us to the context of David's appointment.

Samuel took a significant risk anointing David as King. Today, we often fail to see how dangerous and absurd it would be for this man to be considered a King. However, Samuel was willing to serve God, even with risks and when it wasn't easy to do.

In our culture, too often we enjoy comfort, and when our faith pushes us out of our comfort we tend to abandon faith. Following Jesus is easy unless risk and sacrifice is involved. God does great things in us and through us when we are willing to take risks, and get out of our comfort zones for him.

Today's reading comes from 1 Samuel 16:1-13

A HEART OF CELEBRATION

God is good!

After 14 years of faithfulness and blessing, Sunrise Ministries has finally moved into its very own church building! We are beyond excited about this move and the possibilities it brings—possibilities to better impact our neighborhood and community through the transformative power of God's grace and love.

On November 19, our first service in our new home, Pastor Bob delivered a short message about God's faithfulness, and took a moment to remind of our responsibility to those that come after us.

If you'd like to see a video of this monumental service in the life of Sunrise, it is available HERE.
