Serving Information
As a member of Sunrise Ministries, you are asked to volunteer in at least one area of ministry. Are you serving somewhere? If not, please look over the following list and see where you can help. Don't wait to be asked to serve – please volunteer. We need you!! Serving RefreshmentsRefreshments are served before and after the worship service. Servers usually start serving at 9:30am before the service and after the service and serve once ever 2 months. Please contact Cheryl Karsten via email. Nursery HelpThe nursery staff takes care of children ages birth to 2 yrs. We play with toys and read books. The time commitement is one Sunday every 3 months. Please contact Holly Vankampen at 616-662-9084 or email her. KidZone Teaching/AssistingSunrise has 4 levels of Sunday School called Kidzone. Each level has a curriculum that will challenge and reinforce all levels of Bible Knowledge.
If you have questions about Kidzone for your child(ren) please contact Deb via email or call the church office Mon, Wed, Fri. during office hours. We need Sunday School teachers that have a heart for Children. All lesson plans and materials are provided. We would like each teacher to teach his/her zone for a 2 week commitment. GreetersGreeters provide a friendly face, a warm handshake, and a genuine "Welcome" Whether you're a first-time visitor or been a member for some time now, nothing's better than walking up to our front door, and seeing a 'real smile' & hearing them say "come on in, we've been waiting for you!" The time commitement is once every 7-8 weeks from 9:40 to 10:05am on Sundays. Please contact Gary House at 616-340-9497 or email him. This is also a fantastic way for YOU, to get to know many in our church. Don't forget to greet the kids either - they LOVE IT! and so will you, just try it! Trailer TransportationThe Sunrise trailer is loaded with praise band equipment, nursery toys, and KidZone materials, and is transported from a storage facility (by the church office) to the Pinnacle Center each Sunday. Every thing is stored on carts and the carts need to be unloaded and brought to the correct rooms. After the service, everything is reloaded and the trailer is hauled back to the storage facility. Each volunteer is put on a schedule once a month to every 6 weeks (depending how many men are on the volunteer list). The trailer needs to be at the Pinnacle Center and unloaded by 7:45 a.m. on Sunday morning. For additional information please contact Barb Erffmeyer at the church office or email her. The trailer is a 16 foot long tandem axle. The volunteer would need to have at least a 1/2 ton pick up truck in order to pull the trailer. Tech TeamThe Technical Arts Team uses technology to help enhance the worship services. This includes the sound system, the Power Point presentations, as well as video segments. Work is done during the week to prepare the song slides once the worship service has been planned. Sunday morning consists of setting up the sound system, reviewing the slide presentation, and checking the videos. The services are recorded for distribution as well as for the MP3 downloads. The time commitment is Sunday's – 8:00 am to 9:30 am (setup and work with praise team), Teardown – approx. 30 minutes after the service. Please contact Keith VanHaitsma at 616-308-5453 or email him. Youth MinistrySunrise's middle school youth group meets two Sunday evenings each month at the home of Ty and Laura DeWitte. Together with Rob & Stephanie Witteveen, the DeWittes lead the young persons in a variety of age-appropriate church and community-based experiences intended to raise up leaders within the Kingdom. If you are interested in joining a social, service, or study gathering, please email Laura here. |
